Disney+ launched several new emotional spots to build on their “Feels Like Home” campaign. My favorite is “Hyperspace.” It follows the life of a Star Wars fan from childhood to fatherhood.
Why I like this spot
It’s a smart strategy for the Disney+ brand and a great way to differentiate from the competition. Few streamers have content that is culturally iconic and crosses generations.
When Bob Iger bought the Star Wars franchise for Disney, a lot of naysayers felt it did not fit the brand. This campaign illustrates how Disney has been able to fold Star Wars into Walt’s sustaining vision of “making people happy.”
