LEE HUNT’S PROMO OF THE WEEK

Last year, Apple TV+ tried something a bit different. They ran a brand campaign featuring John Hamm lamenting the fact that he has never had an Apple TV+ series or movie. In one spot, he calls Tom Hanks to complain that Tom’s been in two Apple TV+ movies and maybe he should give someone else a chance. In the end, we learn he’s only speaking to Tom’s voicemail.

This year, Timothée Chalamet joins the ranks of stars who have yet to appear on the service while name-checking all the stars that have.

Why I like these spots

Both campaigns are a clever way of highlighting the laundry list of bold-face Apple TV+ talent with bold-face non-Apple TV+ talent. Very clever.
