LEE HUNT’S PROMO OF THE WEEK

We’ve featured SYFY’s fan-made IDs before. In 2017, SYFY introduced their positioning, “It’s a Fan Thing.” They built on that strategy with promos, interstitials, and clever fan-made IDs. In January, they took those IDs to a new level with socially empowering messages. Then in March, they used fan-made IDs to celebrate Women’s History Month. Now, they’re using fan-made animations to promote “fan-favorite” movies.

Why I like this spot

These are promos for movies that we’ve all seen many times, so clips spots aren’t necessary to sell the titles. This is definitely a fresh, and brand-defining way to make “next” promos.
